Prof. Nebojsa Bojovic

Biography

Prof. Dr. Nebojsa Bojovic, is a distinguished professor and Dean at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, the president of the Institute of Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia, Board and a corresponding member of the Academy of Engineering Sciences. He has made significant contributions authoring 3 books and over 140 scientific papers, including more than 40 in SCI-listed journals, with h-index 20 and more than 1.500 citations. He has led numerous scientific and industry-related projects in transportation and communications and has been involved in international collaborations through H2020, IPA, and CARDS programs. Since 2017, he has chaired the Scientific Committee for Transport, Urbanism, and Construction at the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development.

Nemanja Sipetic

Biography

Nemanja Sipetic is a graduate engineer of architecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, he is currently completing his post-graduate studies on the Formation of a methodological approach for the development of urban planning of the underground spatial medium for the territory of the City of Belgrade. He owns a design company and with his team has designed more than forty public buildings in Serbia. He is also an associate researcher at the Institute of Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia (IAUS), an associate at the Urban Institute of Belgrade (URBEL) and a frequent guest lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade (FA). Long time member of ACUUS.

Marko Popovic

Biography

Marko Popovic is an event services professional with a Master of Science degree on Financial Management from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade. He is the managing director of BBN Congress Management since March 2009. Before becoming part of BBN, he worked for the Coca-Cola Company in Maryland, USA, and as a Client Relations Manager at the NBA Markant brokerage house in Belgrade. He is an active member of several organizing committees acros different conferences, and a member of the Board of directors of Basketball Partizan 3×3. Through BBN he has developed the paper submission application.

Prof. Danilo Furundzic

Biography

Danilo S. Furundzic is an associate professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, where he also graduated as the top student of his class. He was awarded the Serbian Chamber of Commerce prize for his PhD thesis. He has co-authored two notable monographs: Infrastructure: Transport – The Future of Urban Transport and Infrastructure: Independent Railway System – Metro System – The Belgrade Metro Project.

Mr. Furundžić has worked and gained professional experience in Belgrade, Paris, and Kuwait, specializing in cost review, cost-effectiveness analysis, and development studies, with a focus on investment consulting. He has led numerous strategic infrastructure projects and played a key role in the restructuring of the public sector to optimize costs. He also serves as Chair for several planning committees and works as a court expert, holding five engineering licenses.

In addition to his academic and professional contributions, he has authored a variety of urban planning projects, architectural designs for constructed buildings, and interior design projects, many of which have been showcased at various urban planning and architectural exhibitions. Mr. Furundžić currently serves as the Manager at the University of Belgrade.

Borko Draskovic

Mr. Draskovic is a graduate construction engineer, with a Master of Science from the Faculty of Organizational Studies on CROWDSOURCING technologies and geospatial data platforms. He is the current director of the Republic Geodetic Authority. He was the president of the Council for National Infrastructure of geospatial data. During his career he was a member of many national and international boards and committees on subjects within the field of his expertise, such are UN-GGIM, SPATIAL, EuroGeographics, and many others. He also participated in developing regional and national geospatial strategies and legislature.

Prof. Dejan Filipovic

Prof. Dejan Filipovic, PhD, spatial planner, has been employed at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography since 1993. The environmental protection on spatial and urban planning is professional field of interest. Postdoctoral specialization in the field of SEA, EIA and waste management planning. He participates in most important planning and strategy documents at national level, numerous of scientific and research projects. Project manager in 80 studies of environmental protection. Author of 210 scientific papers, 4 university textbooks, 3 national monographs and 3 handbooks.
He is currently the Vice-Rector of the University of Belgrade, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Geography – University of Belgrade (2012-2021), President of the Serbian Spatial Planners Association (2004-2008). UNDP expert consultant and consultant the magazine National Geographic Serbia. Winner of several significant awards and recognitions for the achieved results.

Sasa Milijic

Biography

Saša Milijic obtained his Ph.D. spatial planning and is engaged in work on scientific and professional projects of the Institute of Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning of Serbia. He successfully performs the function of Director of the Institute. Specific specialties are: planning of development, arrangement and protection of special purpose areas – mountain areas, infrastructure corridors and water basins; sustainable regional, urban and rural development. With 25 years of research and management career, he successfully worked on several scientific projects, spatial and urban plans. He also actively participated in the work of professional associations (Chamber of Engineers, Association of Urban Planners, Association of Spatial Planners of Serbia), commissions and councils of relevant ministries. For the results achieved, he received several awards for his overall contribution to the profession.

Marko Stojcic

Biography

Marko Stojcic is the City Architect of the City of Belgrade, born in Belgrade in 1975, graduated Engineer in Architecture (MSc) from the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, and a licensed architect, designer and contractor. He is an active member of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers, the Association of Architects of Serbia and of Belgrade, and has the status of a Freelance Artist in the ULUPUDS association.

He is an initiator of the establishment of the Chamber of Architects of Serbia, for which he received the support of the European Commission from Brussels in 2010.

He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the most important regional architectural magazine “Arhitekton“.

Prof. Shuilong Shen

Prof. Dr. Shen, is the Chair Professor & Dean of the College of Engineering, Shantou University. Non-EU Fellow, European Academy of Sciences; Member, European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Prof. Dr. Shui-Long Shen received his BSc. and MPhil from Tongji University in 1986 and in 1989. He obtained his Ph.D. from Saga University, Japan, in 1998. His work experiences include Saga University, Japan (lecturer 1998 to 2001). Post-Doctoral Researcher, National Institute for Environmental Studies, Japan (2001 to 2003). Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) (Professor, 2003-2018; Department Head of DCE-SJTU 2010-2018).
Dr. Shen’s research interests focus on the urban underground infrastructural system, smart maintenance of urban underground facilities, and flooding hazards prevention and mitigation by use of intelligent approaches. Dr. Shen published more than 460 technical papers in Journals and International conferences. Dr. Shen’s H-Index in Google Scholar is 94, in Scopus is 86, in Web of Science is 84.

Assoc. Prof. Wu Wei

Biography

Dr Wu is an Associate Professor in Rock Engineering. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Shandong University, China in 2007, Master’s degree from NTU in 2008, and PhD degree from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland in 2013. Prior to joining NTU, he was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University. He currently serves as the President of Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering Geology (Singapore), the Associate Editor for International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences, and the Assistant Chair for Research in School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NTU.

Asst. Prof. Shi Chao

Biography

Dr. Shi is currently an Assistant Professor in geotechnical engineering. He obtained his PhD in Geotechnical Engineering and MSc degree in Financial Mathematics and Statistics from City University of Hong Kong in 2022 and 2019, respectively. He also received an MPhil degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2015. He is a chartered geotechnical engineer in both the UK and mainland China, with five years’ industry experience in internationally leading consultancy and contractor company in Hong Kong. He used to lead or participate in the design and construction works of various high-profile infrastructure projects, such as reclamation works for Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge, ground improvement works for the 3rd runway of the Hong Kong International Airport, and subsea tunnelling works for an MTR link. His research interests include soil mechanics, machine learning of geo-data, centrifuge modelling and numerical analysis of soil-structure interaction, and geo-energy system. The recruitment of PhD students, Research Assistants, and Postdocs is ongoing.

Dragan Veljovic

Biography

Dragan Veljovic works as a lawyer based in Belgrade, Serbia. He is a member of the Belgrade Bar Association and the European Criminal Bar Association. He completed his graduate law studies at the University of Belgrade and postgraduate studies at the University of Sussex, United Kingdom and University of Paris 1 – Sorbonne, France. For over 20 years he has been working as a legal expert on international cases and projects funded by the Word Bank and the EU.
